Their vacation was supposed to be perfect, but it quickly turned into a disaster. It all started when Angie's suitcase went lost at the gate. After hours of frantic searching, they were told it would be located later.

But that was just the onset of their troubles. Mike's flight was rescheduled due to a technical issue, which meant another day at the airport.

Finally, they managed to get on a plane, but their disappeared suitcases arrived days later. They were depleted from the whole ordeal, and their once-dreamy trip had become a chaotic adventure.

Angie tapped her foot impatiently against the airport floor. Her flight to Mexico/Hawaii/London was supposed to depart in an hour, but already a feeling of unease was creeping in. Angie let out a sigh/groan/exasperated sound, feeling her hope/optimism/patience dwindling. This was the last thing they needed/wanted/desired on their much-anticipated vacation.

Angie glared out the glass, watching the endless stretch of highway blur by. She'd been trapped in this car for what felt like forever. Mike, blissfully ignorant, was singing along to some country tune on the radio.

"Isn't it amazing? We should snap a few shots" he chirped, oblivious to Angie's rising anger. They'd been on the road since dawn and every landmark they'd passed had only served to fuel her annoyance.

This vacation was supposed to be a relaxing getaway, not a marathon of misery. She just wanted to get back home, curl up on the couch with a good TV show and forget this whole misadventure ever happened.

Maybe she could just run off when they got to their next destination. A girl could dream, right?
